I ootla. Therefore I am not.
I have a wide range of interests starting from computers to physics, from music to bird-watching. I hate a lot of things which “normal” people like, for instance, cricket.
Not many people read beyond the above lines, for those of you who by chance do, here are a few more things about me.

I am a literal jitter. “JIT” As in “Just In Time”. I finish things just before the axe falls. The primary reason for that is I ootla, and I enjoy doing it.

Languages (Human)
I love Kannada and take a lot of pride in being able to speak grammatically correct, pure Kannada. I dont simply talk about Kannada, but I do my bit for it. I write Wikipedia articles in kannada and help translate open source software into Kannada.
Some people misinterpret my passion for kannada as fundamentalism. I really dont care about such narrow minded people, because I believe that they are just trying to find outlets for their insecurities by making such accusations. I like all languages and intend to learn as many of them as possible. I currently manage to speak English, Hindi, Telugu and a bit of Tamil. I am also learning Konkani, Marathi and Spanish.

Languages (Computer)
I love C/C++, PHP, Perl and Java. I also have an affinty towards C#.net. I dont really like coding in assembly, as I think it is too much work.

Movies
I watch a lot of kannada and English movies, but I watch telugu and tamil movies too. I love art movies. Dweepa is my all time favourite kannada movie. [More detailed list here] I believe Karan Johar’s movies are utter atrocities against fundamental human intelligence and should be wiped off the face of this universe. Specially all his K-Series movies. I hate the background music in his movies.

Music
I listen to metal/heavy metal music or kannada music most of the time. I enjoy all kinds of music. Jazz to Reggae, Carnatic Classical to Death Metal.

devadutta.net runs my 5th generation website content management code based on the wordpress core.

For a long time, I used to run self written php based content management system on this page. It was called 3dcms. It was fast, elegant and highly secure. It was good everywhere except when it came to implementing new features. As a student, I used to get lots of time to work on my page. But after I got a full time job, it got hard for me to churn out code. Thus I moved my entire back-end to the wordpress core in order to make use of all the freely available plugins. I implemented multiple plugins on top of the core to make it look like my old page. I thought running wordpress core would make my site even more secure. But, ironically, wordpress on my page was hacked within months of launching, as opposed to 3dcms (my cms) which ran for multiple years without any problems. Well, so much for “security”. I should never have forgotten that like all things, security is just an illusion.

I am now thinking of moving back to 3dcms
