Srikanth and I have started a new blog called BoiledBeans. We post one technical quiz question there everyday and post answers the next day. In this interval, we let people post answers to the questions and we announce the winners along with the answers. When you get an answer right, you get a point. The highest scores are featured in the hall of fame!
We have many other guest quiz masters who will be sharing their brilliance with us!
So, take a look. We assure you it will be fun.
Funda behind the name:
Boiledbeans derives its name from Bengalooru, which originally was called benda kaLooru, which simply translates to quot;the city where the beans got bakedquot;.
This is an English quiz, written in PHP. You can play this to improve your vocabulary and prepare for tests like the GRE or just to have some fun.
NEW!! Updated to the Barron’s GRE word list!! Has 4816 words in database!

I had originally coded this in 2005 when I was preparing for the GRE. Although the wordlist I have had (now with Barron’s word list) is not very good, the game is not bad. It did help me in the beginning.
This release is officially version 1.1

Talakadu is a nice place for a weekend getaway from Bangalore. It is on the banks of the glorious Cauvery river and the river bed is completely sand. It is like a fresh water beach. Really nice place to spend a whole day. It is just off Maddur and can be reached via Mysore road from Bangalore. As an added attraction, there are a few very old temples, including one of quot;Vaidyanatheshwaraquot; (the Shiva of Medicine).
I went there with my friends, and was amazing fun. I have a some pictures from Talakadu put up in the gallery section.

This Greasemonkey script encrypts the contents of a text box on a web page using the rot13 cipher at the click of a button.
If there is a clean text box on a page, the e13 button pops up next to it. Click on it and the text inside the box will be rotated by 13.
well, here are some examples of the operation

Firstly, I was trying some arbit queries on my site’s backend database and two very simple queries returned the quot; Most Popularquot; and quot;Least Popularquot; nodes of this page, which has been added.
Secondly, a new quot;artquot; section has been added.
Lastly, a new song is available for download. I have been getting mixed responses for this song. Some people told me it was outrageous while some agreed it was quot;not badquot;. Get it in the music section!
nodeGravity is a novel way to visualize web-site statistics which I had devised sometime ago.
Each article on this page falls into a category like downloads, news, projects etc. nodeGravity uses the number of visits to that particular category and the number of nodes in that category to render and visualize web stats according to Planck’s black body radiation and Newton’s Law of Universal gravitation.
Here is an example

Simple interpretation of the stats are this
The color is calculated using Plank’s black body radiation laws, which says that the hotter a star is, the lesser the wavelength of the emitted light will be.
Newton’s Law of universal gravitation comes in to associate energy to each node, based on its mass and number of visits.
Hope you enjoy it!
